Santa Fe

Un destino verdaderamente único, Santa Fe es la ciudad capital más antigua y con 7,000 pies, la más alta de los Estados Unidos. “The City Different”  fue fundada por España en 1607, y pasó brevemente a formar parte de México antes de unirse a los Estados Unidos en 1848. Casi toda la ciudad está construida con estilo “Pueblo-español”, en el que las casas fueron hechas tradicionalmente con ladrillos de adobe y barro y techos planos. Los colores tierra de los edificios se mezclan a la perfección con las colinas y valles que rodean Santa Fe.

La ubicación de Santa Fe al pie de las Montañas Rocosas del sur y el clima templado durante las cuatro estaciones del año (más de 300 días de sol al año) la convierten en una ciudad de clase mundial para las actividades al aire libre. Con sus característicos cientos de millas de senderos de 6,000 a 12,000 pies de altura, la Asociación Internacional de Ciclismo de Montaña nombró a Santa Fe como uno de los 15 Silver Ride Centers. El cercano Pecos Wilderness ofrece oportunidades casi infinitas para hacer senderismo (incluido mochilero), pesca con mosca, paseos a caballo y esquí de fondo. Ski Santa Fe opera 660 acres de terreno con ascensor para el esquí alpino desde el Día de Acción de Gracias hasta abril.

La capital de Nuevo México es también su centro cultural y culinario. Canyon Road cuenta con la mayor densidad de galerías de arte del mundo, y el festival de verano de la Ópera de Santa Fe es famoso a nivel mundial. Muchos de los mejores restaurantes del suroeste se encuentran aquí, incluidos muchos lugares para degustar algunos de los famosos chile rojo o verde de Nuevo México.

Ruta

Las carreteras de GFNY Santa Fe llevarán a los ciclistas a través del espectacular y diverso terreno del suroeste. Ambas rutas comienzan en el centro de Santa Fe.
 

El recorrido de 75 millas de largo, con 7,150 pies de subida, coronará a los ganadores después de la subida de casi 15 millas hasta la meta en Ski Santa Fe. A una altura máxima de 10,350 pies, ¡esta subida seguramente hará que el corazón lata! 
 
Los ciclistas pasarán de las llanuras y colinas de las praderas y los bosques de piñones y enebros a los álamos del pintoresco pueblo de Tesuque. La ruta largo termina en el bosque de picea, abetos y álamos de las altas montañas, con enormes vistas del valle del Río Grande a casi 5.000 pies más abajo. 
 
Los ciclistas de la ruta larga pueden elegir entre recorrer las 15 millas cuesta abajo o tomar un servicio de transporte de regreso al inicio. Se recomienda traer su equipo de subida para esta ruta, no hay pendientes más empinadas que el 12%, ¡pero el aire hará que parezca más empinado!

EL RECORRIDO LARGO ES UNA COMPETICIÓN: Solo los finalistas del recorrido largo son elegibles para clasificaciones de categoría y premios en general y podio. Si quieres competir y estar clasificado en tu categoría, debes completar el recorrido largo. El 10% de los finalistas en cada grupo de edad obtienen un lugar en el Corral de clasificación en cada evento de GFNY World.

 

Los ciclistas de la ruta media de 60 millas, con 3,500 pies de subida, recorrerán un circuito un poco más corto que el recorrido largo a través de las llanuras y colinas del desierto alto. Esta ruta es perfecta para el "rouleur" y termina donde comenzó en el centro de Santa Fe.

LA RUTA MEDIA NO ES UNA COMPETICIÓN: Los corredores de la ruta media recibirán su tiempo de inicio a fin, pero no se clasificarán según el tiempo de llegada. Todos los tiempos de llegada se enlistarán en orden alfabético.

Beneficios incluidos como parte del GFNY Santa Fe

EL JERSEY: Todos los corredores reciben un jersey oficial de GFNY Santa Fe, el cual se tiene que usar durante la carrera. El jersey está diseñado en Nueva York y fabricado en Italia.

TIEMPO DE CHIP: GFNY Santa Fe es una carrera cronometrada. Cada atleta tiene su propio chip de cronometraje, que comienza justo después de cruzar la línea de inicio y se detiene cuando cruza la línea de meta. Los resultados de cronometraje estarán disponibles en gfny.cc/results.

MEDALLA DE FINALISTA: Cada finalista de GFNY Santa Fe recibe una medalla, sin importar la distancia que hayan completado.
